The Main Auditorium at Stockton Baptist Tabernacle

Acoustic Arrangements were pleased to be awarded the contract to design and install a full presentation system at Stockton Baptist Tabernacle's new building in Stockton-on-Tees. The system included a large sound system, video system and a full lighting rig.

These systems were key to the overall objective of the church to be able to have a facility that would meet the current and future needs of the church whilst allowing the facility to become a venue that could be used for many different Christian and secular events.

The church members have learnt quickly how to handle the technology and provide a new dimension to the church’s worship and preaching as well as outside hires making full use of the systems for conferences and concerts. Stuart Cornwell, the church secretary, says...

“...it’s wonderful to have a building with all the latest technology that’s so helpful to us as a church but also puts out a positive message to others in the town...”

Audio Control Position

The audio system comprises of the following:-
32 channel Allen & Heath mixing system with routing to main speakers, internal TV system and overflow hall. The Shermann speaker system has two centre flown 15” + 6” + 1” speakers to cover the tiered seating with two side wall mounted 12” + 1” speakers covering the lower level and with two dual 15” sub bass speakers giving in total about 5KW of sound. Stage monitor speakers were also provided and colour coded with the main speakers to architects spec. Inputs derived from dual VGA tower PC, stage end laptop PC, VCR, three fully remote pan, tilt, zoom cameras and roving cameras. Any input can be routed to a number of destinations via an 8x8 matrix switcher. The main 3000 lumen front projection system is fed from a four channel vision mixer allowing smooth transitions and overlays i.e. song words over video. Other feeds go to the internal TV system, stage monitors and overflow hall. Other items include scan converter, video distribution amplifier, RF modulator and RF distribution amplifier. Monitors installed in café and crèche with mobile TV/Monitors for use elsewhere.

The Lighting system comprises of the following:-
24 channel programmable desk where different lighting plots can be stored and recalled as needed with full manual control and chase effects. Three suspended lighting bars and two wall mounted bars allow for up to 36 lanterns to be used, a full patch bay provides easy arrangement of lighting requirements. The lanterns are a mix of 1KW PAR cans and 1KW Fresnels. The power end of the system is four wall mounted dimmer units each giving 6 channels of 10 amps – a maximum load of 240 amps or 58KW.
